Landing (descent or approach)

Following a night takeoff from Chesterfield-Spirit of St Louis Airport Runway 26L, the twin engine airplane entered a right turn and climbed to the altitude of 900 feet when the pilot initiated a circuit to return to the same runway. On approach, the airplane went out of control and crashed in an open field, bursting into flames. The pilot, sole on board, was killed.

Upon landing at Japuranã Airfield, the twin engine airplane went out of control and came to rest upside down. All four occupants were rescued, among them one was injured. The airplane was performing an ambulance flight from Cuiabá.

The four engine airplane departed Santa Cruz-Viru Viru Airport on a flight to La Paz, carrying eight crew members and a load of new banknotes. The approach to La Paz-El Alto was initiated in marginal weather conditions and after landing on runway 28, the airplane was unable to stop within the remaining distance, overran and collided with several vehicles on the Costanera Avenue. The airplane was destroyed and among its occupant, one was killed while seven others were injured. On the ground, several cars and trucks were destroyed, 23 people were killed and 37 others were injured, some seriously.

On final approach to Steamboat Springs-Bob Adams Airport, the single engine airplane impacted the slope of Mt Emerald located south of the airport. The wreckage was found near the summit, about 5 km from runway 32 threshold. All four occupants were killed.

The twin engine airplane departed Mogadishu-Aden Adde Airport on a schedule service to Galkayo with 55 people on board. About 15 minutes into the flight, the crew encountered technical difficulties and decided to return to Mogadishu. It appears that the airplane landed on runway 23 but was unable to stop within the remaining distance, overran and crashed in shallow water few dozen metres past the runway end. There were no injuries among the occupants and the airplane is damaged beyond repair.

The single engine airplane departed Houston Executive Airport Runway 36 at 1210LT, bound to the northeast, and continued at an altitude of 5,000 feet. Following a normal approach, it landed on runway 02 at Crockett-Houston County Airport at 1240LT. After touchdown, the pilot started the braking procedure when the airplane deviated to the left. It veered off runway at a speed of about 61 knots, lost its undercarriage and came to rest, bursting into flames. The pilot was injured and the airplane was destroyed by fire.

The twin engine airplane departed Port-au-Prince-Toussaint Louverture Airport on a charter flight to Les Cayes on behalf of BOLT. On final approach to Les Cayes-Antoine Simon Airfield, the airplane crash landed in an open field and was damaged beyond repair. All six occupants escaped unhurt.

The airplane departed Mumbai-Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport Runway 27 at 0810LT on a flight to Baramati. Eight minutes later, the crew contacted Baramati. The aircraft's next call was at 30 NM inbound to Baramati and the crew were released by Pune approach. They were advised to descend in Visual Meteorological Conditions at the pilot's discretion (Baramati is a non controlled airport). The crew enquired about the winds and visibility and they were informed that the winds were calm and the visibility was around 3 km. Then the crew reported on final approach to runway 11 but as the runway was not in sight, the crew initiated a go around procedure. After this, the crew was asked about their position and they reported on final approach to runway 11. During this second attempt to land, the crew reported that 'runway is currently not in sight, will call when runway is in sight'. A few seconds later, the crew reported that the runway was in sight and was cleared to land at 0843LT. The crew did not acknowledge this clearance and the airplane crashed about a minute later short of runway 11, bursting into flames. The burned wreckage was found down an embankment of 8-10 metres high located short of runway 11 threshold. All five occupants were killed, among them Ajit Anantrao Pawa, 8th Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Government.

The airplane departed Yogyakarta-Adisutjipto Airport on a flight to Makassar (Ujung Pandang), carrying 10 people. While descending to Makassar-Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Runway 21, it crashed against Mt Bulusaraung (5,135 feet high) located 26 km northeast of the airport. The airplane disintegrated on impact and all 10 occupants were killed. The wreckage was found at an altitude of 5,100 feet. At the time of the accident, the airplane was not on the correct approach path for a landing on runway 21.

After landing on runway 10 at Bhadrapur Airport, the airplane was unable to stop within the remaining distance (runway 10 is 1,500 metres long). It overran and came to rest in a creek located 170 metres past the runway end, coming to rest against an embankment. All 55 occupants were rescued, among them seven were injured including the copilot. The cockpit was severely damaged and the fuselage was bent.
