On final approach to La Serena-La Florida Airport, both engines failed simultaneously. The pilot attempted an emergency landing when the aircraft stalled and crashed short of runway. All four occupants were injured and the aircraft was destroyed. The aircraft was completing a charter flight for the El Indio Mining Company.
Probable cause:
Double engine failure on approach due to fuel exhaustion.

On final approach to La Serena-La Florida Airport, the left engine failed. The crew lost control of the airplane that banked left, lost height and crashed 2 km short of runway 11 threshold, bursting into flames. The aircraft was destroyed and all 46 occupants were killed.
Probable cause:
Inadequate flight planning by the pilot-in-command in coordinating the adoption of measures and applying procedures to successfully remedy a stall condition caused by total loss of power in the left engine when the aircraft was flying at low altitude on final approach to land, in landing configuration.

The aircraft was completing a cargo flight within Chile, carrying four crew members and a load of five tons of meat. In unknown circumstances, it crashed on a mountain slope located near the La Yarita Pass. All four crew members were injured and the airplane was destroyed.
