On final approach to Heliopolis Airbase, while on a local training sortie, the captain decided to make a go around. The twin engine aircraft failed to gain height, stalled and crashed short of runway threshold. The pilot was injured while four other occupants were unhurt. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Circumstances:
Just after liftoff from Luqa Airport, while in initial climb, the airplane suffered an engine failure. It stalled and crashed by the runway, bursting into flames. Nine passengers were killed while seven other occupants were seriously injured. The airplane was destroyed. It was en route from London to Cairo via Malta.
Probable cause:
Engine failure just after liftoff.

Circumstances:
While descending to Heliopolis Airfield, the crew encountered poor weather conditions with limited visibility. On final, the twin engine airplane lost altitude and crashed 3 km short of runway. The aircraft was destroyed by impact forces and all 11 occupants were killed, among them Air Vice-Marshal Wilfred Ashton McClaughry, his wife Lady Tedder and staff.

Probable cause:
The exact cause of the accident could not be determined. However, the assumption that the aircraft was caught by downdraft (micro-burst) during the final descent was not ruled out.

The crew was completing landing tests off Benghazi when the seaplane crashed in unknown circumstances into the Mediterranean sea, some 24 km offshore. All seven occupants were rescued the next day in a dinghy while the airplane sank and was lost.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed Alexandria-Borg El Arab Airfield at 1645LT on a flight to Heliopolis, carrying 10 passengers and a crew of seven. After takeoff, the pilot continued at a height of about 50 feet to avoid enemy actions. Nevertheless, 20 minutes later, the airplane was shot down by a German fighter and crash landed in a desert area located near LG.90. Two crew members and all 10 passengers were killed, among them Lieutenant-General William Henry Ewart Gott who has been appointed as commander of the Eighth Army just the day before.

The airplane departed Heliopolis to drop paratroopers over Tmimi. While flying between Tmimi and Gazala, it was shot down by enemy fire, entered a dive and crashed near Tawīlat al Ghazālah. Seven crew members became PoW while Sgt Pott was killed. About two weeks later, P/O Martin and AC1 Humphries died from injuries sustained.
