Ulster

The airplane departed RAF Ballykelly at 0533LT on a maritime patrol flight over the Atlantic Ocean. After the German U-boat U-256 was attacked and sank to a depth of 110 metres, the crew was requested to take part to a SAR operation for a troopship reported to have been torpedoed. At 1220LT, the crew informed ground that he was returning to base with an ETA at 1627LT. At 1515LT, all four engine lost power, the aircraft lost height and was ditched off the Irish coast. While the aircraft sank and was lost, four crew members were rescued while four others were killed.

The floatplane departed Enniskillen on a maritime patrol flight. In unknown circumstances, it crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off Donegal. The wreckage was found but no trace of the 12 crew members.

The airplane departed RAF Coningsby at 1820LT on October 1st on an operation to Karlsruhe. While returning to base the following night, it passed over the United Kingdom aynd was eventually abandoned by the crew over the Glendowan Mountains in Ireland. All four crew members were rescued and interned.

The floatplane departed RAF Castle Archdale in the evening of March 20 on a patrol mission with eight crew members on board. The following night, it crashed in a mountainous area located near Glenade. All eight occupants were killed.

The airplane departed Belfast-Aldergrove Airport at 0923LT to search for tugs looking for bombed ships. While returning to base the following night, the crew got lost and abandoned the airplane that crashed on Glenard Hill, some 10 km east of Buncrana. Three crew members were killed after they parachuted in the Lough Foyle. Two others were interned.

The bomber crash landed in the Loch Swilly off Lenankeel and was lost. All three crew members swam to the shore and were later interned.

The single engine airplane departed Kildonan Aerodrome in Finglas with one passenger and one pilot on board. In unknown circumstances, the aircraft crashed on the roof of a farm located in Bundoran, Ulster. Both occupants were injured and the aircraft was destroyed.
