Royal Air Force - RAF

The twin engine airplane departed RAF Bircham Newton on a test flight with six crew members on board. After practicing circuits and landings, it was seen flying at a height of about 50 feet with the undercarriage down when it stalled and crashed in an open field located two miles from RAF Docking. The airplane was destroyed and all six crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF North Coates on an anti-shipping operation off the Dutch coast. It collided with a ship mast and crashed into the sea off Ameland Island. All four crew members were rescued and became PoW.

The airplane departed RAF Skellingthorpe at 1657LT on November 30 on an operation to Hamburg. While returning to base the following night, it ran out of fuel on approach and crashed two miles from the airbase. All four crew members were rescued, among them one was injured.

The airplane departed RAF Castle Bromwich on a transit flight to RAF Odiham. On approach, it went out of control and crashed short of runway. All three occupants were injured.

The airplane ran out of fuel and crashed landed in Borg El Arab, west of Alexandria. All six crew members escaped uninjured.

The airplane departed RAF Dalton at 1640LT on November 30 on an operation to Hamburg. While returning to base the following night, it strayed off track to the north. Running out of fuel, it was abandoned by the crew and crashed near Springholm. All five crew members parachuted to safety.

The airplane departed RAF Middleton St George at 1718LT on an operation to Hamburg. While returning to base in the late evening, it crashed upon landing and was damaged beyond repair. There were no injuries among the crew.

The airplane departed RAF Linton-on-Ouse at 1706LT on an operation to Hamburg. It was shot down by a Me.110 and crashed in Moorstrich. Both pilots were killed and three others became PoW.

The airplane departed RAF Feltwell at the end of the afternoon on an operation to Emden. In the late evening, while cruising along the Dutch coast, it was shot down by enemy fire and crashed into the sea off Lauwersoog. All six crew members were killed.
