Wyton AFB

The airplane departed RAF Wyton in an attempt to bomb the Ruhr using cloud cover. It turned back with failing engines and crashed at 1225LT following a heavy landing at RAF Warboys. All eight crew members escaped uninjured.

The airplane departed RAF Wyton on an operation to Plzen. It landed at RAF Warboys with the port engines unserviceable. A swing developed as the Stirling landed and on leaving the runway the main undercarriage unit collapsed, damaging the bomber beyond repair.

The airplane crashed upon landing at RAF Wyton while engaged in a local training exercise. There were no injuries among the crew.

The airplane departed RAF Wyton in the evening of October 20 on an operation to Bremen. While returning to base the following night, it crashed at 0130LT at Catsholm Farm near RAF Methwold. The crew bailed out but one was killed as a result of doing so.

The airplane departed RAF Wyton in the evening on an operation to Nurnberg. Over Belgium, it was shot down by a German fighter and crashed in Mariembourg, killing the entire crew.

The airplane departed RAF Wyton in the evening of August 12 on an operation to Berlin. Passing over Lower Saxony, it was shot down by the German Flak and crashed in Bruchhausen-Vilsen. Five crew members were killed and two others became PoW.

The airplane departed RAF Wyton in the evening of August 12 on an operation to Berlin. It was badly damaged by enemy action and the crew diverted to RAF Honington for an emergency landing. With unserviceable hydraulics and a propeller shot away, the airplane crashed upon landing and was damaged beyond repair. All seven crew members escaped uninjured.
