Martin 167 Maryland

The airplane departed RAF Luqa on a combat mission off the Maltese coast. It was shot down by a Me.110 and crashed into the sea off Valetta. Two crew members were killed and a third was rescued.

On final approach to Luqa Airport, the airplane crashed for unknown reasons, bursting into flames. Two crew members were killed and a third was seriously injured. The only survivor died the next day from injuries sustained.

The airplane departed Fuka Airfield at 0640LT on a reconnaissance mission consisting of photos of Derna, Martuba, El Timimi, El Gazala and the area between Tobruk and Bardia. While cruising at an altitude of 3,000 metres, it was shot down by the pilot of a German fighter and crashed in a desert area located some 10 km east-southeast of Acroma. The wreckage and the four crew members were never recovered.

Following a reconnaissance mission over Taormina, the crew was returning to Luqa Airport. On approach, the airplane was shot down by the pilot of a German fighter. The navigator was able to bail out before the airplane crashed one mile north of Dingli. Two other crew members remained on board and were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Luqa at 0700LT to proceed with a check of the fleet based at Taranto Airport. While approaching Catania at an altitude of 10,000 feet, the bomber was shot down by the pilot of a Macchi M.C. 200 and crashed in the Mediterranea Sea off the Sicily coast. All three crew members were killed.

The airplane departed Casablanca on a flight to Gibraltar, carrying four crew members. After it landed in El Polo Airfield in Campamento, on the Spanish territory, the crew realized he was not in Gibraltar, took off and headed south. On approach to Gibraltar, the aircraft was shot down by ground fire and crashed into the sea. All four crew members were killed.

The airplane departed Châteauroux Airport to attack German troops in the region of Château-Thierry and Oulchy-le-Château. It was shot down by the German Flak and crashed in flames in an open field. Two crew members were killed and a third was seriously injured.

The airplane departed Châteauroux to attack convoy in Château-Thierry and Oulchy-le-Château. After being hit by Flak, the crew diverted to Romilly where the aircraft crash landed in a field. All three crew members were injured.

The airplane departed Châteauroux to attack convoy in Laon, Reims and Montcornet. After being hit by Flak, the crew diverted to Romilly where the aircraft crashed upon landing. A crew was injured and two others were unhurt. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
