Circumstances:
While flying at an altitude of some 2,000 feet over the Peak District National Park on a flight from Prestwick to Bovingdon, the crew encountered poor weather conditions and low visibility due to heavy snow falls. The twin engine aircraft hit the top of the Black Combe Hill and crash landed in deep snow. Both crew were slightly injured and walked away for few hours to find help. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair and abandoned on site.

Circumstances:
The crew was completing a delivery flight from Canada to UK. On the last leg from Reykjavik to Prestwick, while cruising at an altitude of 4,000 feet east of the Isle of Arran, the crew informed ground that he was approaching Prestwick Airport. One minute later, the aircraft crashed into the Firth of Clyde, about four miles offshore. Some documents were found a day later on a beach but no trace of the aircraft nor the crew was ever found.

The undercarriage collapsed on landing. The aircraft skidded for several yards before coming to rest. There were no casualties but the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
Probable cause:
The undercarriage were not properly down and locked on touchdown and partially retracted. It is possible this was caused by a failure of the undercarriage extension system.

The aircraft left Montreal-Dorval Airport at 2359LT on December 29 on a mail and VIP flight to Prestwick on behalf of the Canadian Government Trans-Atlantic Air Service (CGTAS). At 0649LT, the Goose Bay Control Center received a mayday signal when the aircraft was cruising at an altitude of 23,000 feet some 600 miles east of Newfoundland. SAR mission was conducted but all operations were suspended after few days as no trace of the aircraft nor the five occupants was found.
