The crew was performing a cross country exercise when the airplane, flying too low, collided with a chimney located on the roof of a house and crashed in Rochford. Both crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Foulsham at 1600LT to attack the airport of Caen. It was hit by the German Flak and on return to base, the pilot was forced to initiate a go around. While climbing to a height of 500 feet, both engines failed. The airplane stalled and crashed in an open field located northeast of the airbase. All four crew members were injured.

Following a local solo training flight, the pilot was returning to base when, on final, the banked steeply to avoid a bird strike. Doing so, the airplane descended and collided with tree tops before landing. It was damaged beyond repair.
