The Beech 65-88 airplane was reported missing on February 7, 1988. It was on an IFR flight from Aruba to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The airplane departed from Aruba approximately 1223Z. According to air traffic authorities in Santo Domingo, the airplanes last reported position was over the DUSAN intersection at 1340Z. The airplane has not been located, and remains missing. No additional information is available.

Circumstances:
While on a local flight in Fort Lauderdale, the pilot reported engine problems and ditched the aircraft off Fort Lauderdale. Both occupants were rescued while the airplane sank and was lost.
Probable cause:
Powerplant failure for undetermined reasons. The following contributing factors were reported:
- The pilot failed to follow approved procedures,
- Improper emergency procedures,
- Aircraft came to rest in water,
- Complete engine failure one engine,
- Forced landing off airport on water,
- Engine not feathered,
- Right engine fuel selector in off position.

Circumstances:
The crew was completing a single engine positioning flight from El Paso to Lubbock. En route, the remaining engine failed, forcing the crew to attempt an emergency landing. The airplane belly landed in a desert area located in the region of Seminole. Both occupants escaped with minor injuries while the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
Probable cause:
In-flight engine malfunction and subsequent wheels-up landing caused by a cylinder assembly failure. The following contributing factors were reported:
- Material failure,
- Intentional wheels-up landing,
- Fire in engine,
- Fire warning system: powerplant,
- Complete engine failure,
- Forced landing off airport on land,
- Single engine ferry flight to repair the other engine.

Circumstances:
The crew departed Van Nuys for a local test flight. En route, a fire erupted in the left wheel well and spread to the left wing that detached in flight. Out of control, the airplane entered a dive and crashed in flames. All three occupants were killed.
Probable cause:
In-flight fire during normal cruise for undetermined reasons. The following findings were reported:
- Fire in brakes, wheel assembly, wheel well,
- Fire in wing,
- Separation in flight,
- In-flight loss of left wing,
- Severe fire in left wheel well aft of left engine firewall, source undetermined.

Circumstances:
The crew departed Salt Lake City Airport for a local training flight. Three minutes after passing 9,000 feet, still climbing to reach FL130, the crew informed ATC about smoke in the cockpit. Shortly later, the aircraft entered an emergency descent until il crashed in Woods Cross, about 6 miles northeast of the airport. The aircraft owned by Thomas J. Carter was destroyed and both pilots were killed.
