Tunisia

The airplane departed RAF Luqa to attack Italian ships cruising in the Mediterranean Sea. While approaching the Tunisian coast, it was shot down by enemy fire and crashed into the sea off Kerkennah Islands. All three crew members were killed.

Crashed shortly after take off for unknown reasons. There were no casualties.

Following an uneventful mission, the float plane was returning to its base at NAS Kharrouba in Bizerte. At night, the airplane landed hard, bounced and went out of control before crashing into the Lake of Bizerte. All six occupants were killed.

Crashed for unknown reasons while taking off from Tunis Airport. There were no casualties.

A technical failure of unknown origin forced the pilot to make an emergency landing in the Gulf of Tunis, off Qurbus. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair and all occupants were rescued.

The crew was returning to Bizerte Airbase (Karouba) following a combined exercise with another similar aircraft. On final approach, the seaplane encountered sudden and violent squall when the right wing impacted the cliff of the Carrières and crashed. Three crew members were rescued while four others were killed.

Q/Mst Douérin.

Shortly after takeoff from Bizerte-Sidi Ahmed AFB, while climbing at night, the crew encountered engine problems. The captain decided to return for a safe landing and completed a circuit from the south. At low height, the airplane collided with power cables and crashed in Azib, some 12 km southeast of the airbase, bursting into flames. The aircraft was destroyed and all four crew members were killed.

The crew was performing a nonstop flight from England to South Africa and the Royal Air Force ordered this Fairey Long Range Monoplane to establish a new record. The aircraft departed RAF Cranwell in the morning bound to the south. While overflying Tunisia by night, the crew did not realize his altitude was too low and was unable to distinguish the mountains (Djebel Zaghouan). Around 2240LT, the single engine airplane impacted the slope of a mountain located southwest of Zaghouan. The wreckage was found the following morning. The aircraft was destroyed upon impact and both crew members were killed.

After takeoff from Tunis-Carthage Airport, the aircraft stalled and crashed in the Kheireddine district. Occupant fate unknown.
