Lindholme AFB

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 1757LT on an operation to Hanover. It was hit by Flak over the target, which wrecked the starboard engine. A successful single engine return was accomplished and the crew landed at 2205LT at RAF Stradishall. Upon touchdown, a flare which had hung up fell out and exploded, setting light to the Wellington. All six crew members were uninjured.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 1741LT on an operation to Wilhelmshaven. In the late evening, while returning to base, it was shot down by the German Flak and crashed into the sea off Borkum Island. All six crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Pocklington at 1710LT on an operation to Wilhelmshaven. It returned early with failing engines, but was ordered to divert to RAF Lindholme. While approaching the runway, the Wellington crash landed and was damaged beyond repair. All six crew members escaped uninjured.

While returning to base in the evening, it crashed at 2115LT at Crowtree Farm while in the airbase circuit, due to a faulty altimeter setting, which led the pilot to think he had 500 feet to go before landing. Four crew members were injured.
