The crew was engaged in a mission on behalf of the 271st Squadron. While taxiing, the aircraft went out of control and hit a dispersal pen before coming to rest. While the aircraft was damaged beyond repair, all occupants were uninjured.

Circumstances:
The twin engine airplane departed Hatston to transfer personnel in Donibristle, north of Edinburgh. En route, the crew encountered poor visibility due to rain falls when the airplane impacted the slope of a hill in Kempstone Hill, near Cowie. All six occupants were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Hatston at 1620LT to bomb the harbor of Bergen. Approaching the target, the airplane was shot down by Flak and crashed in the harbor. All three crew members were killed.
