The airplane departed RAF Waddington at 0934LT on an operation to Brest. Approaching the target area, it was shot down by a Me.109 and crashed into the sea some 7 km off Brest. Four crew members were killed and three others became PoW.

The airplane departed RAF Linton-on-Ouse at 0959LT on an operation to Brest. It was hit by the German Flak over the target and crippled so badly that the crew were obliged to ditch the airplane at 1315LT into the sea some 60 miles off the English coast. All seven crew members were rescued, among them one was injured.

The crew were completing a local training exercise at RAF Scampton. The airplane overshot the runway and crashed at noon. Weather conditions are described as poor at the time of the accident. There were no injuries among the crew.

Shortly after takeoff from RAF Oulton, while climbing, the airplane went out of control and crashed. Both crew members were killed. They were engaged in a local training exercise.

The airplane departed RAF Coningsby at 0930LT on an operation to Brest. Over the target area, it was hit by the German Flak but the pilot was able to evacuate the zone and to return to base. Nevertheless, on final approach to base, the airplane stalled and crashed, killing the entire crew.

The airplane departed RAF Croft at 1643LT on an operation to Le Havre. While flying at an altitude of 6,500 feet, the starboard engine caught fire. Prompt action by the crew quelled the fire, but the Whitley lost height and crashed off Spithead. All five crew members were rescued.
