Circumstances:
The seaplane departed Akureyri on an escort mission in the Atlantic Ocean. After a German submarine was spotted, the crew decided to perform an attack when the airplane was damaged by enemy fire. The pilot ditched the airplane off Jan Mayen Island and all eight crew members were rescued by the British destroyer HMS Marne.

The airplane departed Trondheim-Værnes Airport on a maritime patrol flight over the Sea of Norway. It failed to return to base and was not recovered until 1950. In unknown circumstances, it impacted the ground and crashed near Cape Wien, on Jan Mayen Island. All four crew members were killed.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed Stornoway Airport at 0500LT on a maritime patrol flight over the Norwegian Sea. The goal of the mission was to locate the German battleship named 'Tirpitz' cruising along the Norwegian coast. Following an unsuccessful mission, the crew was returning to Scotland when, flying along the Lofoten Islands coast, the airplane was attacked by the pilots of three German Messerschmitt Me.109 fighters. The captain was forced to ditch the airplane off the coast. While four crew members found refuge in a dinghy, three other occupants were killed. The aircraft sans and was lost.

While cruising in foggy conditions, it impacted the wooded slope of Mt Breitind located near Reipå, some 50 km southwest of Bodø. The aircraft was destroyed by impact forces and all 16 occupants were killed.
