Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Scampton at 0009LT on an operation to Frankfurt. Eleven minutes later, it suffered a double engine failure, entered an uncontrolled descent and crashed near Lincoln, bursting into flames. All four crew members were killed.

Circumstances:
The airplane departes RAF Waddington at 2255LT on July 22 on a mine laying operation off the Frisian Islands. While returning to base the following night, it crashed for unknown reasons on the Greenstones, staff residence for Lindum Hall School for girls at Lincoln. All four crew members as well a Miss Fowler, the senior French mistress were killed.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Scampton in the evening of September 27 on an operation to Lorient. While returning at night, the crew got lost and were unable to locate RAF Scampton. Over Lincolnshire, the airplane was abandoned and crashed on the St Matthias Church in Lincoln. A crew was killed and three others were injured.
