The airplane departed RAF Swinderby at 1915LT on a mine laying operation. Both port engines failed in flight, forcing the crew to divert to Thurlby where the airplane crashed on approach. A crew was killed.

Circumstances:
The crew departed RAF Skellingthorpe on a training sortie. While cruising at an estimated altitude of 800 feet, the aircraft entered an uncontrolled descent and crashed in an open field. All five crew members were killed.
