Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Manston at 1115LT on an anti-shipping operation. Damaged by enemy fire, it was returning to base when it crash landed on Goodwin Sands. All three crew members were injured.

The airplane departed Limburg-Saint-Trond Airfield to attack RAF Debden. Approaching the British coast, it was shot down by the pilot of a Defiant and crashed on the Goodwin Sands at low tide. Three crew members were killed and a fourth became PoW.

The airplane departed RAF Detling at 0450LT on a maritime patrol flight over the North Sea. While cruising at an altitude of 8,000 feet, it was shot down by the pilot of a Me.109 and crashed into the sea off Goodwin Sands, Kent. All three crew members were killed.

En route from Croydon to Paris, the pilot became lost while cruising in poor visibility due to mist. He spotted the French trawler named 'Sirius' and descended too low when a wing tip impacted the water surface. The aircraft flipped over and crashed. All three occupants were rescued by the crew of the trawler.

While approaching the British coast at a height of 2,000 feet, the pilot encountered engine problems and made an emergency landing on a sand bank called 'Goodwin Sands' and located some five miles off Deal, Kent. Less than an hour later, the crew of ship named 'Primo' could evacuate all four occupants who were uninjured. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
