Kuybyshev

Approaching Sengiley at an altitude of 300 metres, while on a flight from Kuybyshev to Gorki, weather conditions worsened with low clouds and thunderstorm. The pilot reduced his altitude to 200 metres then attempted to avoid the storm by making a left turn. Shortly later, the airplane was facing a hill. The pilot increased the engine power but this was too late. The empennage impacted trees and the airplane stalled and crashed in a wooded area, bursting into flames. All occupants were rescued and the airplane was destroyed.

The airplane departed Kuybyshev-Bezymyanka Airport on a special flight to Nizhny Taguil-Valyogin Bor Airport, carrying four crew members and two passengers, the director and his deputy of the n°18 Factory. While descending to the destination, the crew encountered marginal weather conditions and the visibility was poor. While descending to the altitude of 700 metres, the airplane impacted the slope of Mt Golaya (aka Mt Shaitan - 748 metres high) located in the Vesyolyye G Mountain Range. The wreckage was found two days later and all six occupants were killed. Manufactured last February, the airplane crashed before it could be entered into the register so it did not have any registration at the time of the accident.

The airplane was performing a special flight from Krymskaya to Molotov (now Perm) with an intermediate stop in Kuybyshev (now Samara). The goal of the mission was to pick up spare parts for deliver in Krymskaya. While descending to Molotov Airport at dusk, the crew encountered poor weather conditions with snow falls. As the pilot was unable to locate the airport and was forced several time to abandon the approach and to go around, he eventually attempted to land in a snow covered field located near Ustinovo, about 3,5 km southwest of the airfield. The aircraft crash landed and was damaged beyond repair. All nine occupants were injured.

When weather conditions improved, the crew was cleared for takeoff and departed Kuybyshev Airport at 1127LT on a flight to Sverdlovsk. The pilot continued the flight at an altitude of 50 metres and once he arrived over the village of Sok-Karmala, he encountered foggy conditions. In low visibility, the airplane impacted trees, lost height and crashed 135 metres further, bursting into flames. The flight engineer was seriously injured and the pilot was killed.

The airplane departed Moscow-Khodynka Airport on a flight to Kuybyshev, carrying four crew members and 20 passengers, in connection with the evacuation of GAZ n°1 to Kuybyshev. En route, the crew encountered poor weather conditions with low clouds, fog and freezing drizzle. Some 25 km east of Kuznetsk, the crew flew some circles over a forest located on a 340 metres high hill near Lake Beloye when the airplane crashed for unknown reasons near Golodyayevka (now Dubrovka). All 24 occupants were killed, among them the aircraft designer Vsevolod Tairov.

En route from Kyubyshev to Almaty, the crew encountered technical problems and attempted an emergency landing. The aircraft crash landed in a pasture located in Trostyanka, about 70 km east of Kuybyshev. The crew was uninjured and the airplane was damaged beyond repair.

The crew was completing a mail flight from Moscow to Almaty. En route, weather deteriorated with icing conditions, causing the windshield to be covered by ice and frost. To land at Kuybyshev Airport, the pilot was forced to put his head out of the cockpit, but doing so, he missed the runway. After touchdown, the airplane skidded off runway and came to rest. There were no casualties but the aircraft was destroyed.

The pilot, sole on board, departed Aktyubinsk on a mail flight to Moscow with an intermediate stop in Kuybyshev. On approach to Kuybyshev Airport, the pilot completed a haft-circle to reach the runway when he realized his position was incorrect. He decided to initiate a go-around procedure when he saw the pipe of a foundry. While trying to get height, the airplane collided with the pipe and crashed, bursting into flames. The pilot was killed.

The pilot, sole on board, departed Moscow on a postal flight to Tashkent with intermediate stops in Kuybyshev and Orenburg. On the leg to Orenburg, the pilot encountered poor weather conditions with thunderstorm activity and heavy rain falls. He decided to continue, descended to an altitude of about 400-500 metres when control was lost. The aircraft crashed in a wheat field located 4 km south of the village of Syrt, some 40 km northwest of Orenburg Airport. The aircraft was destroyed and the pilot was killed.
