Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Coningsby at 0010LT on an operation to Duisburg. Few minutes after takeoff, it exploded in the air and crashed on mudflats in Butterwick, less than 20 km southeast from the airbase. All seven crew members were killed.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Coningsby on a training exercise. While making a sharp turn at low altitude, the pilot lost control of the airplane that stalled and crashed in Poynton Hall, Butterwick. Both crew members were killed.
