Circumstances:
The crew was conducting a training mission when an engine failed. The pilot attempted an emergency in a field located in Walsgrave, in the suburb of Coventry. All three crew escaped unhurt while the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
Probable cause:
Engine failure in flight.

Circumstances:
The crew was performing a training sortie out from RAF Calshot near Southampton. While taking off from the seaplane base, the float plane hit waves with its wings. Control was lost and the airplane overturned and partially sank. Three crew were killed and two others were seriously injured.
