Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Snaith at 2220LT on May 5 on an operation to Stuttgart. While returning to base the following night, the crew encountered technical problems with the front turret that became unserviceable as well as trouble with the port engine. The crew elected to reach RAF Finningley but was finally forced to attempt an emergency landing in an open field located in Askern, north of Doncaster. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair and all six crew members escaped with various injuries.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 2316LT on April 17 on an operation to Hamburg. Approaching the Dutch coast, the crew encountered engine problems and decided to return to base. Following a misjudged approach, the pilot was forced to initiate a go around procedure when the airplane collided with a parked Wellington and crashed. All six occupants were rescued, five were injured.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 2221LT on April 14 on an operation to Dortmund. While returning to base the following morning, the airplane ran out fuel. The captain attempted an emergency landing when the airplane crashed in Wroot, northeast of Doncaster. Two crew members were killed and four others were injured.

Shortly after take off from RAF Finningley (Doncaster Airport), while in initial climb, the twin engine aircraft stalled and crashed in a wooded area, bursting into flames. Three passengers were killed while both other occupants were seriously injured. The aircraft was destroyed by a post crash fire.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 1922LT on an operation to Cologne. It was hit by the German Flak over the target area but was able to return to base. Upon landing, the airplane overshot and crashed on a building belonging to the airfield's rifle range. Five crew members were killed and a sixth was injured.

Eventually, the airplane ran out of fuel and crashed in Hexthorpe, in the southwestern outskirts of Doncaster. All four crew members were killed.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Binbrook on an operation to Brest. Approaching the target area, the captain decided to return due to the deterioration of the weather conditions. Weather over England was bad too with low clouds and snow falls. At night, the airplane impacted the ground and crash landed in the Peak District National Park, near White Edge Moor, about 12 km southwest of Sheffield. The aircraft slid on a snowy field before coming to rest. All six occupants escaped with minor injuries and the airplane was damaged beyond repair.

The airplane departed RAF Dalton at 0424LT on an operation to Brest. Turned back over Cherbourg after the starboard engine failed. While roughly 12 miles south of Sheffield, the unserviceable engine caught fire and the order to bail out was given. While trying to force-land, the Whitley crashed into the rear of Creswell Street in Pogmoor, west of Barnsley. Two crew members were killed and two others were injured.
