Circumstances:
En route from Burbank to Camp Stoneman (Pittsburg), the airplane developed engine trouble. After an engine failed, the pilot diverted to San Jose Airport. On short final, the second engine also failed and the airplane crashed in a pear orchard located at the northeast corner of the airport. All 12 occupants were rescued, among them two were injured. The airplane was destroyed. All passengers were servicemen transferred to Camp Stoneman.
