Circumstances:
The three engine airplane departed Oslo-Fornebu Airport at 0830LT on a flight to Banak with intermediate stops in Trondheim and Bardufoss. About one hour into the flight, the crew encountered severe icing conditions and the captain decided to attempt an emergency landing. The aircraft crash landed in an uninhabited area located 17 km northeast of Ringebu. The captain was killed and seven other occupants were wounded. Few hours later, one of the crew member died from injuries sustained.

Circumstances:
The four engine airplane departed Trondheim-Værnes Airport on a reconnaissance flight over the western part of Iceland. Intercepted by two USAAF P-38 Lightning, it was shot down and crashed on the western slope of Kleppatagl (407 metres high) located in Arnarvatnsheiði. The airplane disintegrated on impact and all seven crew members were killed.

While cruising in foggy conditions, it impacted the wooded slope of Mt Breitind located near Reipå, some 50 km southwest of Bodø. The aircraft was destroyed by impact forces and all 16 occupants were killed.
