Westkapelle

The airplane departed RAF Burn at 2320LT on June 11 on an operation to Düsseldorf. Passing over the Netherlands, it was shot down by a German fighter and crashed into the North Sea some 22 km west of Westkapelle. All five crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Pocklington at 2351LT on May 12 on an operation to Duisburg. The following night, it was shot down by a German fighter and crashed into the North Sea some 60 km west of Westkapelle. All seven crew members were killed.

The airplane departed Deelen AFB on an operation to London. It was shot down by enemy fire and crashed into the North Sea some 25 km off Westkapelle. All four crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Swanton Morley on an anti-shipping mission. Approaching the Dutch coast, it was shot down by the pilot of a Me.109 and crashed into the sea some 5 km west of Westkapelle. All three crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Wattisham on an anti-shipping mission. While approaching the Dutch coast at low level, it was shot down by ship's Flak and crashed into the sea one km off Westkapelle. Two crew members were killed and a third became PoW.
