Circumstances:
While on a training flight out from San Angelo-Mathis Field, the airplane suffered a fuel exhaustion. It was abandoned by the crew and crashed in an uninhabited area located 19 km north of Mertzon. All four crew members parachuted to safety.
Probable cause:
Fuel exhaustion.

Circumstances:
Following a training exercise, the twin engine airplane was returning to base at San Angelo AAF (Mathis Field) when it crashed in unknown circumstances in a desert area located 8 km southeast of Mertzon, some 30 km southwest of the airbase. All four crew members were killed.
