Circumstances:
The airplane was engaged in a local test flight at Magadan Airport following maintenance. After takeoff, while climbing to a height of 300 metres, the airplane entered an uncontrolled descent and crashed on the left bank of the Duksha River, 4 km from the airport. Two crew members and four passengers (engineers and mechanics) were killed.
Probable cause:
The trimmer of the horizontal stabilizer had been connected in the wrong way during the repair by the PARM-1 field workshop at Magadan Airport. This mistake was not noted by the crew prior to takeoff.
