Andover

The crew was engaged in a test flight on behalf of the Empire Test Pilots' School (ETPS) and departed Farnborough for RAF Lyneham. Enroute, a technical failure occurred on the right engine that caught fire. The pilot-in-command reduced his altitude, contacted ATC and elected to make an emergency landing. After passing Chibolton and while descending through the last cloud layer, the starboard wing was on fire. While attempting to land, the airplane hit a tree and crashed in flames. The aircraft was destroyed and all three crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Lichfield at 1948LT on September 16 on an operation to Essen. It was hit by the German Flak over the target area which destroyed the port aileron. Despite severe handling problems and lack of airspeed, the crew regained the south coast before bailing out at 0320LT near Andover. All five crew members parachuted to safety while the airplane crashed and was destroyed.

The airplane departed RAF Scampton in the evening of October 16 on an mine laying mission off Bordeaux. While returning to base at night, it probably ran out of fuel and crashed near Andover. All four crew members were killed.

While on a reconnaissance mission, the airplane was shot down by Flak and crashed near Cassel. Two crew members were killed and a third bailed out and survived.

The airplane departed RAF Andover on a reconnaissance mission over Abbeville and Saint-Pol. En route, it was shot down by the pilots of Heinkel and Me.109. With one engine out, the airplane belly landed in an open field and came to rest. Two crew members evaded and a third became PoW.

Departed RAF Andover on a mission over Albert, France. Mistakenly shot down by the pilot of a Spitfire and crashed in Fricourt. All three crew members were killed.

While on a training sortie out from RAF Andover, the airplane suffered an engine failure. The pilot attempted an emergency landing in an open field in Aston Abotts. All three crew members were uninjured and the airplane was damaged beyond repair.

Crashed while taking off from Ander Airfield. One crew member was killed and four others were injured. The crew was engaged in a local training mission on behalf of the 9th Squadron.

The crew was completing a local training mission at Andover Airfield. On final approach, the single engine aircraft crashed for unknown reason. Both crew were injured and the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

The twin engine airplane was engaged in a night training flight over the British Isles. While taking off by night from Andover Airfield, the aircraft encountered difficulties and crashed on a building, bursting into flames. Two passengers were seriously injured while five other occupants were killed.
