Airspeed AS.10 Oxford

Both pilots were engaged in a training flight on behalf of the 21st Army Training School. En route, the twin engine aircraft collided with birds that hit the right wing and the right engine. The crew was forced to reduce his altitude and to attempt an emergency landing in an open field. Upon touchdown, the aircraft lost its undercarriage and slid for several yards before coming to rest. Both crew escaped uninjured while the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

For unknown reasons, the airplane overshot on landing. The crew attempted a go around procedure when the airplane stalled and crashed. Both crew members were rescued.

The pilot was completing a local solo training flight at RAF Church Fenton. While circling in the vicinity of the airbase at night, he lost control of the airplane that crashed north of the airfield. The airplane was destroyed and the pilot was killed.

The crew departed Wigram Airbase on a training exercise. While flying in poor weather conditions, the crew lost control of the airplane that crashed in the Pacific Ocean off the New Zealand coast. SAR operations were initiated but eventually suspended after few days as no trace of the airplane nor the crew was found.

The crew departed RAF Swanton Morley on a training exercise. In unknown circumstances, the twin engine airplane collided in mid-air with a second RAF Oxford registered V4063 and also carrying a crew of two out from the same airbase. Following the collision, both airplanes dove into the ground and were destroyed. All four crew members were killed.

The crew was completing a local training exercise at RAF Dunholme Lodge. While circling in the vicinity of the airbase, the airplane collided with high tension wires and crashed south of the airfield. All three crew members were killed.

The crew was completing a local training flight at RAF Middleton Saint George. On final approach, at an altitude of 600 feet, the airplane suffered a loss of engine power, stalled and crashed. All three crew members were injured.

The pilot was in charge to convoy the airplane from Cambridge to RAF Kinloss for maintenance. While cruising in poor weather conditions over Scotland, the right engine failed. Unable to maintain the prescribed altitude, the pilot attempted an emergency landing on the frozen Loch Laidon and the airplane came to rest near the shore. The pilot found help and was later transferred to his base while the airplane was damaged beyond repair.

The crew departed RAF South Cerney on a training mission to RAF Boscombe Down on behalf of the 3rd Army Training School. On final approach, the crew initiated a go around when the airplane struck the roof of a hangar, stalled and crashed. Both pilots were injured and the airplane was destroyed.
