Circumstances:
The crew encountered technical problems and was forced to attempt an emergency landing in a field. On touch down, the left main gear collapsed and the aircraft came to rest in Thorpe Abbotts, some 30 km south of Norwich, Norfolk. All occupants were uninjured while the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Thorpe Abbotts on an operation to Bremen. While cruising along the German coast, it was shot down by a German fighter and crashed into the sea some 20 km north of Wangerooge Island. Six crew members were killed and four others were rescued and became PoW.
