Circumstances:
The crew departed Liverpool-Speke Airport on a flight to RAF Langford Lodge after radio equipment have been delivered in Liverpool. After takeoff, the pilot followed the River Mersey to avoid the Liverpool defenses and was cruising at an altitude of 800 feet due to low clouds. Shortly later, to clear barrage balloon, he climbed and entered clouds when the airplane impacted the slope of Mt Fron Hen located in the Clwydian Mountain Range.
