Liege

The airplane departed RAF Waddington in the evening of October 13 on an operation to Cologne. While returning to base the following morning and passing over Belgium, it was shot down by a Me.110 and crashed in a field located in Horion, southwest of Liege Airport. Five crew members were killed and two others became PoW.

The aircraft departed RAF Wattisham on a mission to Maastricht. While approaching Liège-Bierset Airport, the aircraft was shot down by enemy fire and crashed in Voroux-Goreux. All three crew members were killed.

The airplane departed Plivot on a bombing mission over a German column moving in Maastricht. En route, it was shot down by the pilot of a Me.109 and crash landed in Herstal, in the outskirts of Liège. Two crew members evaded and a third was killed.

The bomber departed Poix-Croixrault AFB on a reconnaissance mission over Belgium. En route, it was shot down by the pilot of a German fighter and crashed in a field located in Borlez. All three crew members were injured.

The airplane departed Metz on a reconnaissance mission over Germany. While cruising at an altitude of 7,000 metres, the airplane was attacked by the pilot of a German fighter. The pilot was able to evacuate the area and to fly to Belgium. Eventually, he was forced to attempt an emergency landing. At low height, the air gunner bailed out but the altitude was insufficient and he was killed. The airplane then collided with a power line and crashed in a meadows. The two crewmen who remained on board were seriously injured.

The crew was performing a training flight in the region of Liège. After departure from Liège-Bierset Airport, while cruising in bad weather conditions, the single engine aircraft crashed in unknown circumstances near the Bierset-Awans Station. Both pilots were killed.
