Port Moresby-Wards (5 Mile Drome)

The airplane departed Port Moresby-Wards Airfield (5 Mile Drome) on a mission to Popondetta (Dobodura), carrying four crew members and various goods. On final approach to Popondetta Airport, a wingtip struck a tree, causing the airplane to crash less than one km from the runway threshold. The airplane was destroyed and all four crew members were killed.

The airplane departed Port Moresby-5 Mile Drome (Wards) at 0800LT on a reconnaissance and bombing mission over New Guinea. It went out of control and crashed in hilly terrain near Negifi. The airplane was totally destroyed and all 12 occupants were killed.

The airplane departed Port Moresby-Wards (5 Mile Drome) on a flight to Popondetta and crashed on approach following a pilot error. There were no fatalities.

After takeoff from Dobodura Airfield, the airplane was shot down by a Japanese fighter and crashed. All four crew members were killed. Named 'Shady Lady', the airplane was operated as VH-CCZ.
