The airplane departed RAF Binbrook at 2316LT on July 8 on an operation to Cologne. It was badly damaged by the German Flak and subsequently crash landed at 0345LT at RAF Hawkinge with its wheels still retracted. No injuries reported among the crew.

While on a reconnaissance mission over Saint-Omer, the airplane was shot down by enemy fire and crashed in Faumont. All three crew members were killed.

After being hit by Flak over the French - Belgian border, the crew returned to his base at RAF Hawkinge when the airplane crashed upon landing. All three crew members survived and LAC A. C. Jeffrey was injured.
