Circumstances:
Shortly after takeoff, while on a night training exercise, the aircraft failed to gain height, hit trees located past the runway end and crashed. Both pilots were killed.

Probable cause:
It was determined that the aircraft was unable to gain sufficient height after rotation because the elevator trim was incorrectly set by the crew.

While returning to RAF Scampton following a weather survey flight, the pilot reported beam set problems. On approach, the airplane descended into trees and crashed near the airfield. Both crew members were killed.

Circumstances:
The crew was engaged in a training mission and departed New Plymouth AFB in the day. The airplane failed to return to base and was lost without trace. SAR operations were initiated but eventually suspended few days later as no trace of the airplane nor the crew was found. A hunter found the burned wreckage in a wooded area located on Mt Egmont on 17 January 1974. Mt Egmont was later renamed Mt Taranaki.

Probable cause:
Controlled flight into terrain. The crew was bothered by the sudden deterioration of the weather conditions while flying in a valley close to Mt Egmont. Due to poor visibility and low ceiling, the crew was unable to locate the mountain on which the aircraft crashed.

Circumstances:
The crew departed RAF Acaster Malbis at 1945LT on a local training exercise. About 35 minutes later, he initiated the approach after weather conditions deteriorated. On final, in poor visibility, the pilot reduced his altitude from 600 to 100 feet, apparently to establish a visual contact with the ground, when the airplane contacted a tree and crashed in Escrick, some 5 km east of the airbase. Both crew members were seriously injured. The instructor died few hours later and the pupil died 3 days later from injuries sustained.

While on a supply mission, the crew lost his orientation and was unable to localize his position due to weather deterioration. Few minutes later, both engines failed due to fuel exhaustion. All four crew members decided to abandon the aircraft and bailed out. The airplane dove into the ground and crashed near RAF Newmarket. All four crew members parachuted to safety.
Probable cause:
Pilot disorientation and fuel exhaustion.

After the collision, NZ1221 dove into the ground and crashed, killing all three occupants. The second aircraft landed safely at Wigram AFB.
