Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Chedburgh at 2002LT on an operation to Stuttgart. Over France, it was shot down by a German fighter and crashed in Fagnières, west suburb of Châlons-en-Champagne. Six crew members were killed and the air gunner became PoW.
