Circumstances:
The crew left RAF Chipping Ongar, Essex, taking part to the 'Operation Varsity'. While approaching Wesel, the aircraft was shot down by the German Flak and crashed in a field. All five crew members were killed.

Circumstances:
Shortly after take off, while on a night training exercise, the aircraft failed to gain height, hit trees located past the runway end and crashed. Both pilots were killed.

Probable cause:
It was determined that the aircraft was unable to gain sufficient height after rotation because the elevator trim was incorrectly set by the crew.

Circumstances:
The crew was performing a training exercise out from RAF Hampstead Norris. En route, the pilot became lost after he encountered poor weather conditions with fog and snow falls. Too low, the airplane impacted the Whichford Hill located north of Chipping Norton. The air gunner was killed and six other crew members were rescued.
