The airplane departed RAF Syerston at 2150LT on May 27 on an operation to Essen. While returning to base the following night, it was shot down by the German Flak and crashed in Warmond. All seven crew members parachuted to safety and became PoW.

Circumstances:

The airplane departed RAF Newmarket at 2145LT on June 5 on a bombing mission over Kiel. While overflying the Netherlands, it was shot down by the German Flak and crashed in a field located in Warmond, bursting into flames. A crew member was killed while four others became PoW.
