Circumstances:
While cruising along the coast, the crew was forced to abandon the aircraft and bailed out. The aircraft crashed into the sea off Haleiwa and was destroyed. All five crew members were later recovered and rescued.

Unknown technical failure.

The pilot, sole on board, was completing a training flight. In flight, the engine failed, forcing the pilot to ditch the aircraft 500 yards offshore. The pilot was uninjured and rescued and the aircraft sank and was lost.
