The airplane was engaged in a raid over RAF Driffield. Approaching the coast of East Yorkshire, it was shot down by a British fighter and crashed into the sea. All four crew members were killed.

Circumstances:
The crew departed Soesterberg Airfield in the Netherlands on a bombing mission. While approaching the British coast, the twin engine aircraft was shot down by the British Flak and crashed into the sea off Flamborough Head. All four crew members were killed.

The airplane departed RAF Lindholme at 2113LT on July 31 on a raid over enemy positions. All contact lost at 0410LT and it is believed that the aircraft crashed into the sea some 50 km east of Flamborough. All four crew members were killed.
