While on a night intruder mission between Pyongyang and Sinanju, the crew made his last radio transmission at 2353LT on April 6. The twin engine aircraft crashed in unknown circumstances shortly past midnight in the region of the Sunan Airport. No trace of the aircraft nor the crew was found.

At 2350LT, while cruising about 16 km northwest of Pyongyang-Sunan Airport at an altitude of 4,000 feet, the pilot ordered the crew to bail out. Two of them were later recovered while two others were missed in action as the airplane crashed in unknown circumstances.

While flying over Sunchon, the aircraft was hit by antiaircraft fire. The pilot was able to evacuate the combat area and flew west of the capital city when the situation on board forced all crew members to bail out and to abandon the aircraft that crashed 17 km west of Pyongyang-Sunan Airport. A crew member was killed while 10 others survived. The aircraft was destroyed.
