The airplane departed RAF Newton at 1900LT on March 30 on an operation to Brest. While returning to base the following night, it was attacked by an intruder as the crew was preparing to land and the airplane crashed. A crew was injured and five others were unhurt.

The airplane departed RAF Newton at 1900LT on an operation to Brest. While making an emergency landing and banking steeply in order to avoid colliding with a house, the airplane hit a tree and crashed at Manor Farm, near Mudford. A crew member was killed and five others were injured.

The airplane departed RAF Newton at 1810LT on an operation to Lorient. While returning to base in the late evening, the crew got lost. While flying in clouds, the airplane impacted the slope of Mt Moel Farlwyd (577 metres high) and disintegrated in impact. Five crew members were killed and a sixth was injured.
