Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Binbrook at 2302LT on June 16 on an operation to Cologne. Over Germany, it was badly damaged by the German Flak and the following morning, while returning to base, the crew reported hydraulics issues and attempted to divert to RAF Elsham Wolds for an emergency landing. The airplane crashed on approach, killing the entire crew.
