Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Leconfield at 1640LT on a mine laying operation in the Nectarines region. It was hit by the German Flak in the starboard wing, which effected the performance of the engine. Strayed from track and flying at low level, the airplane clipped a telegraph pole near Mantgum and finally crashed north of Wirdum. A crew was killed and five others became PoW.
