Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Syerston at 1925LT on October 15 on an operation to Cologne. Shortly after completing the attack, and while flying at an altitude of 17,000 feet over the target area, the bomber was shot down by the German Flak and crashed. Three crew members were killed and four parachuted to safety and became PoW.
