Circumstances:
Following a bombing mission over Stuttgart, the crew returned to England and made a stop at RAF Tangmere before continuing to base at RAF Leconfield. Shortly after takeoff from RAF Tangmere, while climbing, the airplane suffered an engine failure and crashed 5 km west of the airbase. All five crew members were killed.
