Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Graveley at 2309LT on June 28 on an operation to Cologne. Near the target area, it was shot down by a German fighter and crashed in Ülpenich, 34 km southwest of Cologne. The pilot was killed while seven other crew members became PoW.
