Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Gransden Lodge at 2149LT on April 4 on an operation to Dortmund. After being badly shot about by the German Flak, the crew returned to base but diverted to RAF Graveley where the airplane crash landed and was destroyed. All seven crew members escaped uninjured.
