Circumstances:
Shortly after takeoff from Kiel, the seaplane climbed to a height of about 50 metres then stalled and crashed into the Kieler Förde. Five crew members were killed and two others were rescued.

It is believed that the accident was the consequence of a locked pins blocking the elevator and rudder control.
