Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Mildenhall at 2240LT on June 11 on an operation to Düsseldorf. Passing over the Netherlands, it was shot down by a German fighter and crashed into the IJsselmeer 10 km north of Hardewijk. Five crew members were killed and two others became PoW.
